100 Days of Creation Care Action in Western North Carolina
While we are a non-partisan organization, we at the Creation Care Alliance recognize that this season, particularly in light of our national politics does not bode well for God's creatures, ecosystems or those who depend on them. We also recognize that those most vulnerable in our communities will be most impacted by further environmental degradation. The first 100 days of any administration is a traditional season in which policy and practice are laid out. This time period is when we seek to elevate our efforts for care for creation.
As an intentional response, we are inviting people and communities of faith to initiate 100 acts of creation care in the first 100 days of the new administration.
This is a parallel campaign to the "Green Faith" Campaign.
We will mark the beginning of these 100 days with "Caring for Creation in Uncertain Times" on
Friday, January 20th from 5-7 pm with a gathering time of words, ritual, intention-setting and refreshments.
We will be facing the setting sun along the windows or patio of Lenior-Rhyne University (36 Montford AveChamber of Commerce).
We will end the 100 days on April 29th, the day of the Peoples Climate March.
Creation Care Alliance and Mountaintrue are offering many opportunities during this time, but those are just the beginning. Please share your intentions here so we can reach our goal of 100 experiences, events, prayers, advocacy letters/calls, and actions. Also you can share your events and stories more publicly on the Facebook 100 Days Group page here.
